Current Programs Offered
Below are the current programs that Stratford PAL has to offer over the course of the year. If you have any questions please reach out.
Police Cadets
The Police Cadet/Explorer program is open to youth and young adults 13-20 years old and the Junior Cadet program is offered to Stratford Middle School students. The programs both give youth the opportunity to work with our police officers and learn about leadership, self confidence and respect for others. Registration is open year round for our cadet programs.
PAL Hockey
With the support from The Rinks at Shelton at the Shelton Sports Center, we are able to offer super low cost Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Hockey programs each summer. Sgt. Albohn and Detective Creatore created the foundation of the program which included getting grant funding to outfit up to 60 hockey players annually. Registration starts each May and skating begins in July.
Baking Workshops
Baking workshops are held throughout the year and vary in length and difficulty. We offer programs for all ages! If you have an idea or want to assist please let us know and we will get another session started. Keep an eye on the website and social media for our next session!
Summer Camps
A staple to Stratford PAL, summer camps are run every year out of the PAL Building and include fun filled field trips. Registration is in May for these camps which are held in July annually.
COPfit
COPfit is a wellness, fitness and exercise program developed by Stratford Officers for our youth. It is a 4 week program which runs during the summer. This program fills quickly so be on the look out for registration opening. Registration opens in May.
Fishing Club
The PAL Fishing Club is a brand new program in 2025. Set up to get our group of anglers, first responders and their families outdoors!
Bike Squad
The Bike Squad was formed to give the youth in our community a resource for learning bike safety, taking their abilities to the next level and getting outdoors. Led by a dedicated team of officers from all skill sets at the Stratford Police Department. Join them as they ride to their next adventure! This program typically runs from May-September annually.
Roots and Recipes
Organically grown foods in our own gardens here at the PAL Building which are set, maintained and harvested by the officers and youth from 6-18 years old in this one of a kind program. Learn all aspects of gardening and living a healthy lifestyle. Over the course of the program the youth will work with the officers to create healthy recipes from their efforts in the garden and enjoy what they worked so hard to grow. This food to table program was a hit in 2025! We will start registration for next summers program in March just before we start the seedlings!
